Inserting a video - training

Inserting videos in your blog
Videos are normally already hosted on the cloud – e.g. YouTube
You will therefore basically LINK them to your content on your GAFE Drive and to your blog

If you want to play a video in class, then download it first  and keep it on the DGHS server – SA bandwidth is terrible!

This looks like an actual video - but it's not - it's a link to a video. Your learners can view it at home or anywhere that has good Internet download speed. They like to download it at night (cheaper rates; less busy) and watch it the next day.
This particular video is only 21MB, so plays instantly. Check your video size before using.

Theory revision - Grade 12 Visual Literacy

For my Grade 12s .............
This post has been updated for you to use while studying at home.

Dunywa

Magwood -Fraser

Let's concentrate on our collection of chosen artworks that are good examples for the FIVE themes we have studied in class.
Some examples can be used in either of two themes BUT you must explain in your essay why the example is relevant to that theme - i.e. focus on that theme.

Dust off your infographics, grab some Post-it notes - we're going for 100% for your upcoming Final theory exam!

Optional:

Order your CD collection or put the collection on your flash. However, your infographics should already have all the content you need.

  1. Look at the Exemplar and its Memo on the DoE website - it gives you valuable information. This site works for all your subjects - not just Visual Arts.......LINK
  2. Look at the Trials paper Memo - this will also be invaluable for final revision. You also have this link as a QR code on your Trials question paper.......LINK

Ceramics for Grade 10s

For my Grade 10s.......

Working in 3 dimensions - in real space and with actual 3-D form - is very important in Art.

When you start, it is essential that you try baby steps first so that you don't get frustrated. Clay has a mind of its own and you need to learn to work WITH this material and not try to impose your will on it - you will not succeed!

We will start off looking at CLOSED forms with an animal theme.

Follow this LINK for details.

This article also poses questions about colonial history in Africa.

Do you think it is offensive? Is it better to make artworks from a 'Post-democratic' viewpoint?
