Mixed Media People is a very broad brief for those learners who enjoy working with the human figure and/or human relationships (even with yourself!).
For those of you who enjoy objects rather than people - look at the Woolworths Educational Programme Brief - also on this blog.
I have bought two excellent e-books on Mixed Media People which you should read.
I will try and share the links .......... otherwise they are saved on our server and on the two Studio USB flash drives.
These are the criteria which we will be using for our school assessment for the sourcebook:-
Due date .... 18th February 2013
Notice that you should aim for AT LEAST 5 x A3 pages.
1. Mind mapping and/or brainstorming (+/- 5 ideas) - illustrated
2. Development of 2 ideas - illustrated
3. Investigation of the chosen idea (other artists? examples? all referenced) - illustrated
4. Experimentation with materials (problem-solving) - photos and samples
5. Final drawing of idea/product (at least an A4 tonal study)
6. A summary which will be your written final proposal / intention - to be done in class
7. Reflection (SWOT analysis of your idea) - to be done in class
Last Week of your sourcebook!!!
We will ALL be working on the tonal drawing together in class. If you don't have visual material for this, then you will be working on the netbooks - on an A4 'artist's statement'. Read Andries Botha's catalogue (or other catalogues) to get an idea of how to do this.
